Fire Check Consultants (PNG) Ltd has been actively involved in the development of the new township at OK Tedi Mine, Tabubil, Western Province, Papua New Guinea, providing fire engineering and fire safety consultancy services from the initial design and construction stages through to the completion and installation of short-term modular container homes.
From the early stages of the project, FCC provided fire engineering advice and technical guidance to support the design, fabrication and construction of the modular accommodation units. As part of our commitment to ensuring that the modular buildings were constructed to an appropriate level of fire safety and compliance, FCC also undertook multiple inspections and technical visits to China to review the manufacturing and construction processes and provide guidance to the project team.
Our involvement continued through the installation stage in PNG. FCC undertook site inspections at the project location in Tabubil to verify that the agreed fire safety measures and compliance requirements were appropriately incorporated into the completed modular buildings. This ongoing involvement provided the client with independent technical assurance that the fire safety provisions were implemented as intended and that the accommodation facilities provided a safe environment for occupants.
The successful delivery of this project demonstrates FCC’s capability to provide end-to-end fire engineering services for modular and prefabricated buildings, including design review, compliance assessment, Performance Solutions, factory inspections, construction-stage advice and site verification.
